Hi All,
Does RD400 has stock Steering Damper like RD350, My Handle is kind of turning too much and touching to the tank.
Buying aftermarket are only are the options ?

Damper only stops head shake, the steering stops are meant to stop the bars hotting the tank. Maybe take a look if they are damaged - lower triple and bottom of the stem.

not stock but a common upgrade. your issue is the steering stops though.

Yes, bottom of the stem, stopper is damaged, allowing the handlebar turn too much.

Yes, pretty common problem. Must take a very small bump to damage them. I've even considered dilling and tapping mine to add adjustable stops. For now, a wire tie tight over the bad side and super glued in place. You know you have the problem if your tank has dents lining up with the upper clamp nuts.

Considering this option. Or go to the Welder and have a stopper tig welded to stop the extra turn.

ive done both in the past. drilling and tapping was easiest unless the frame is bare, if that, then weld and repair correctly.  :twocents:

These adjustable stops from cognitomoto are pretty sweet
