I'm not usually so indecisive. But, I would still go to the gap in August but its literally a week after I get home from a camping trip to the Upper Peninsula.

I was thinking I'd be able to pull taking a Tuesday off as I work 4 days a week. Jist taking a straight 10 hour day. Come down Friday after work, drive through the night and end up in Fontana by 6 or 7am.

Just wondering if trying that is an ok idea or maybe I'd be better off getting up at like 4am and driving on Saturday?

Try and make it any of the days!
Would be great to meet you face to face at the Gap...

if I drove though the night I would be shot the whole next day. Get up early and arrive later but able to still have a nice ride and a good time.
I also hope to see you there. I put in for the vacation Monday.

Well good news is I was off by an extra week. So it's 2 weeks between trips. I'm gonna put in for tuesday and see what happens. I kinda forgot about how I want to get the bike there. Bit if it goes in the truck bed, well that's where it goes lol.

I have not been to :umm: this event, what is  the lodging  like in the area? What would be the days to try for??

Anyone camping out at a campground?

I might attend with a toy hauler.

All of the cabins at Deals Gap are taken by the Kawasaki Triples forum guys. There is camping on the grounds with decent bathroom/shower facilities. There are also other rental and camping accommodations not too far away.
The best days to go are during the week when tourist and car traffic is less.

I put in for Tuesday and Wednesday that week. They let me take the days off. So, as long as the stars align I'll head down there over the weekend and camp. Good thing I've got this awesome percolator, I'll have some fresh coffee in the mornings if anyone wants a cup.

Can't wait. :)
