I've got a couple projects that require cables.  Both need splitters.

I could use a standard RD cable but I would prefer a more compact splitter and do not need the oil pump line.

THe 2nd project i've already got the carb to splitter cables.

What options are out there for semi-custom cables or cable bits?

I'm sure there are some better options out there, but I use this one and I really like it.  For clip-ons or low bars the cable length is almost perfect.  I have used it on two bikes.

thats a nice setup for sure.

I'd really like a 1-2 cable setup for Hi-top VM28 and stock RD350 throttle.

ive made quite a few of my own, utilising bicycle cables and silver soldering the ends on. this can be tricky but ive used old (carb kit junk) brass for the nubs modified for the ends (throttle housings) and brass wire connectors crimped on for the longer narrow ends (carbs).  soldered then shaped. however, you have to kinda know how to actually solder mechanically to get it to work right. and yes, there's a definite slight difference.

M.  Is there a good place to buy generic parts?  I should have kept some of the junk cables I have thrown away.  I could probably turn the tig down super low and give that a shot.

I bought a venhill throttle cable kit on ebay and the quality is very nice! Comes with really nice brass ends for the throttle side and carb side, soldering them on is easy. The brass parts fit tightly on one side and have a "pocket" on the back side to hold the solder. I recommend using flux and flairing the cable ends just before you solder it on to help it hold. Also dime city cycles has a really nice 4 way splitter that is aluminum and is longer for big carbs. The 4 way works great for a 2 way split because you can balance the cables so they pull equally on the splitter. It worked beautifully on my yammagamma. Cheers -Ian
